As a State Agency, we are going to offer anecdotal responses to the question of how to improve the response rate of verification. The first response is simple and obvious, it is to make extensive efforts of follow up via the various potential methods of communication to encourage households to provide required documentation. Lastly, it is helpful for many households if they could receive assistance in helping to provide the required information that they may not understand what is being asked of them. While we do not have any data for either of these two ideas, it is our belief that these ideas may help with the verification response rate.
